The EpilogueWe all arrived safely back in Hertford late on Friday 27th, after a train journey from Wick to Inverness, a memorable (and forgettable!) night out in Inverness, a 10.5 hour drive home, and finally a late welcoming drink in Hertford with a couple of other Commoners. We are all exhausted, but elated. And so the great adventure is over.Many, many thanks to everyone for all your donations, comments, jokes, messages of encouragement and good wishes. And most of all, thanks to you all for reading!Best wishes,Mike, Adam, Chris and SteveDay 13 - Thursday 26 June 2008They say that the hardest part of any victory is to actually finish the job. But with adrenaline pumping through our veins the final 17 miles, in the dazzling sunshine, went by in a flash. The four of us set off at 6.50am, too early for breakfast, but still fuelled by last night's curry. We arrived at 8.07am. After a round of back-slapping and the obligatory photos in front of John O'Groats Hotel we headed back to Wick for a late breakfast before catching the train to Inverness to celebrate our journey's end. From Inverness we have hired a 7 seater car to drive back to Hertford tomorrow. 16.7 miles today, 933.5 miles in total

Day 12 - Wednesday 25 June 2008Today was an epic battle fought against the elements, wind, rain, and the sea mist. As soon as we left our bnb, the heavens opened again. By the time we reached Tain 30 miles in, we were soaked to the skin as if we'd come off a local oil rig. The rugged coastline staggering scenary - well it would have done if the visibility was greater than 50 metres.
Inch by inch we managed to cover the 99 miles seeking the sanctuary of 4 bus shelters along the way, defying the scornful doubters at Conon Bridge Hotel last night. We celebrated reaching Wick with a convivial meal at the local indian. Only 17 miles to go now!! 99.1 miles today, 916.8 miles in total
